Basel, Switzerland has a number of good museums, including this small private one - Fondation Beyeler. It is in the Basel suburb of Riehen, located on the Villa Berower estate, about a 15 minute tram ride from downtown Basel. The building and grounds are beautiful. The museum is small but has some really great art from Picasso, Monet, Ernst, Cezanne, Miro, Pollock, Rauschenberg, etc. The art is from the collection of art dealer Ernst Beyeler. They currently have a nice Klimt exhibit - one of my favorite artists.

A scenic byway is a specially designated road that travels through an area of natural or cultural beauty. You can drive on through your life as fast as you can, more focused on the destination than the journey. Or you can choose to be present and revel in the journey that is life. I choose the latter. Eyes wide open and marveling at the beauty that is everywhere all the time - this is My Scenic Byway.

Fondation Beyeler
No Hurry
This is where I am writing. The balcony of our room in the Hotel Krafft, Basel. This is why I am in no hurry to leave for today's planned museum trip...
Silly Little Dogs
I love how in Europe a lot of people love dogs and they bring them on the trains and in shops and restaurants. Most of them are small of course, and typically well behaved. Yesterday at a restaurant in Zurich a couple had these two sitting under the table behind us (inside). I couldn't stop laughing at them. The expressions on the face of the white one were priceless, but we couldn't capture it in the photos. The other one had a really bad underbite. Only a mother could love these silly things. Maria, adopter of silly little dogs, I think of you when I see these photos.
