Last Week on My Scenic Byway: Feb 7 - 13

Scenes:  I was sick most of the week so I rarely left the house, did not accomplish much, and spent a lot of time on the couch watching bad tv. It was a week with not a lot happening. I need a redo...More snow! Imagine that. But then a beautiful 59 degrees and sunny on Sunday. Torn between wanting Spring to get here fast and wanting more snow so I can go skiing...Work, work, work - too much work...Had a weekend birthday party celebrating for several family members. The family get togethers are always fun.
Ingesting:  Hoarders! The Grammy's - sooo boring. Borrowed music CDs from the public library. They have so much music and it is all free! It is a fantastic resource for music. Eddie Vedder - Into the Wild soundtrack. Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass. George Winston. Philip Glass. Donovan. James Taylor & Carol King. I borrowed 20 - yes 20 - Elvis Costello CDs. Michael Whalen. More Breaking Bad - wow. The Office - sometimes I cannot believe how funny this show is. Dinner at Bambara at the Hotel Monaco in SLC. It was ok. Finished reading "A Case of Exploding Mangoes" by Mohammed Shanif - interesting fictional story based on true events of the plane crash that killed President Zia in Pakistan. It was good. I would recommend it to some.
Loving: The fact that we got 2nd row center tickets to see Elvis Costello's Wheel concert in Reno, Nevada! I am so excited about this show, and the drive to Reno (never been). Reno and Elvis adventure to come!

INSIDE
Memories: My times in India. I miss that place...How sad the movie "Into the Wild" was. I remember reading the book and being so, so sad. Same with the movie. It is just a sad story...The building blocks of my desire to travel and see the world. Valentine's Days past...
IntriguesMeat Eating Furniture. New Internet Domain Names. Paul Haggis vs. The Church of Scientology - a very long, but very interesting and sad expose in The New Yorker. I have always been fascinated by this group. I think they are very strange. Michael Whalen music - how have I never heard of him until now? Good stuff.
Desires: All I wanted this past week was to feel better...and today I do. Sweet.
